Gobelins "The Indian Hunter" Wall Tapestry – French Baroque Tropical Landscape

This wall tapestry recreates "Le Chasseur Indien" — The Indian Hunter — a 1710 design from the Manufacture des Gobelins, the royal French tapestry workshop established by Louis XIV. The original belongs to the celebrated Tenture des Indes series, based on ethnographic studies of 17th-century Dutch Brazil by painters Albert Eckhout and Frans Post. The scene depicts an indigenous hunter with bow and arrow in a verdant tropical landscape filled with banana leaves, grape vines, exotic birds, and ripening fruits — a courtly Baroque vision of the New World.
This reproduction brings that quiet scholarly grandeur to your wall — printed in Europe on premium cotton blend. Pairs beautifully with dark academia, French baroque, biophilic, and grandmillennial interiors — perfect above a bed as a textile headboard, behind a sofa, or in a study with old books and warm wood.
