Henri Rousseau painted The Dream in 1910 — his final major work, completed in the months before his death. A figure reclines on a velvet sofa in the middle of an imagined jungle: oversized lotus blooms, layered emerald foliage, hidden lions and exotic birds, a snake charmer half-seen between the leaves. Rousseau had never travelled anywhere tropical — every plant in the painting was studied at the Jardin des Plantes in Paris.
This throw pillow cover brings that scene to a sofa or armchair — printed in Europe on a cotton-polyester blend. Pairs beautifully with maximalist and dark academia interiors — equally at home on a velvet settee, in a layered library, or against a deep green painted wall.
