Hercules & Sagittarius Constellation Wall Tapestry – Vintage Celestial Star Chart
Hercules & Sagittarius Constellation Wall Tapestry – Vintage Celestial Star Chart

This celestial map captures the summer sky as it was charted in 1693 — a hand-engraved star chart alive with mythological figures: the mighty Hercules kneeling at the centre, the archer Sagittarius drawing his bow, the eagle Aquila in flight, the serpent bearer Serpentarius, the swan Cygnus, the lyre Lyra, and the scorpion Scorpius curling along the southern edge. Engraved by French Jesuit cartographer Ignace Gaston Pardies in Paris, this illustrated star chart served as both a scientific instrument and a work of decorative art.
This wall tapestry recreates that scholarly grandeur on a generous scale — printed in Europe on a premium cotton blend. Pairs beautifully with dark academia, library, study, and grandmillennial interiors — perfect above a desk, behind a reading chair, or in any room you want to feel a little older and more mysterious.
