Ignace-Gaston Pardies engraved these celestial maps in 1693 — part of the French Jesuit astronomer's six-plate atlas of the night sky. One side of this reversible cushion shows the zodiac belt as Pardies charted it: the mighty hunter Orion, the charging Taurus bull, the twin figures of Gemini, Cancer the crab, Canis Major and Canis Minor, and the great ship Argo Navis along the southern edge. The reverse pairs the adjacent quadrant featuring Virgo the maiden, Leo the lion, the Crater cup, the Bootes herdsman in his red tunic, and the Hydra snake winding across the southern sky.

Printed on both sides on a cotton-polyester blend with a hidden zipper closure, this two-sided pillow brings scholarly grandeur to dark academia, library, study, and grandmillennial interiors — perfect on a leather sofa, a reading chair, or layered into a bed of textured neutrals.
